H.E. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

Born in Bhutan in 1961 and recognised as the main incarnation of Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro (1894-1959), he has studied with some of the greatest contemporary masters, particularly H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

As an important tulku, Rinpoche obtained elite traditional Buddhist education and training in his own culture, but has also spent significant time in the West, attending University in London and becoming among other things an accomplished filmmaker.  As such, he has one foot in the pre-modern world and one foot in the postmodern world.  Quite a provocative and independent thinker, he forges his own path as a key pioneer in this fascinating time of East-meets-West spirituality.
